I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
